1. Vocabulary Review: Vocabulary File

Let's go to your vocabulary file. Vamos al archivo de vocabulario, el librito con tapa en blanco y negro.

Write the translation of the words in the first two sections. Escribe la traducción de las palabras en las dos primeras secciones.


2. Grammar Review: Worksheets 1A and 1B


Empezamos con una ficha para repasar la forma afirmativa del verbo "to be" y los pronombres de sujeto en inglés. Puedes solicitar una copia si no estuviste en clase el día 16-10. A continuación aparecen las respuestas:

a. Complete the sentences with a pronoun (I, you, etc.) and 'm, 're, o 's.
    Completa las frases con un pronombre (yo, tú, etc.) y la forma corta de ser/estar.

1. I'm at the airport. Estoy en el aeropuerto.
2. She's my teacher. Ella es mi profesora.
3. You're in class 2. Estáis en el aula 2.
4. They're taxis. Son taxis.
5. It's my cat.   Es mi gato.
6. I'm your teacher. Soy tu profesora.
7. We're in this class. Estamos en este aula.
8. They're egg sandwiches. Son sandwiches de huevo duro. 
9. We're in the café. Estamos en el café.
10. You're in Room 231. Estás en la habitación 231.
11. It's my computer. Es mi ordenador.
12. He's a student in my class. Es alumno de mi clase.

b Rewrite sentences 1-12 with the full forms (NOT contractions.)
   Volver a escribir las frases 1-12 con las formas completas (no la forma corta).

Realizamos una ficha de repaso de la forma negativa e interrogativa del verbo "to be," "1B GRAMMAR verb be - and ?" Puedes solicitar una copia si no estuviste en clase el día 16-10. A continuación aparecen los diálogos con las formas del verbo "to be" que faltan:

Petra   Yes, I am. What is your name?

Petra   Hello. My name is Petra.

Petra    Are you Spanish?
Juan    No, I am not. I am Mexican, but I live in Spain.
Petra   Who is our teacher?
Juan   Her name is Diane.

Juan   No, she isn't. She is American.
Petra   Where are the other students? Are they in class?
Juan   No, they aren't. They are in the café!

Oliver   Hello. My name is Oliver. It's my first day here.

Oliver   No, I am not. I'm Swiss.
Chris    Oh, which city are you from?
Oliver    I am from Lucerne in the centre of Switzerland.
Chris     Is it nice in Lucerne?
Oliver    Yes, it is. It's beautiful. Are you English?
Chris     No, I am not. I am Irish.
Oliver    Where are you from in Ireland?
Chris     Dublin, the capital.
Oliver    Really. Is Dublin nice?
Chris     Yes, it is great!
Oliver    Is this my computer?
Chris     No, it isn't. This is your computer here.
Oliver    Are the other people in the office English?
Chris     No, they aren't. They are from all over the world. Have a good first day at work.

Practicamos los diálogos en parejas, y luego unos "voluntarios" lo representaron para la clase.
